- Download the full original to your device before cleaning — Instagram’s in-app cloud placeholders can be tiny files that fail to parse.
- Run the checker on one file from each export source you use.
- Clean batches of up to 30, then upload — never rely on re-uploading a “fixed” version of the flagged post.
Three-step routine for Instagram
- Inspect. Confirm the file carries C2PA/XMP markers with the free checker.
- Clean. Strip everything with the browser-only remover — pixels stay identical.
- Publish. Upload the verified-clean copy to Instagram.
If the label persists on a checker-clean file, Instagram likely applied a visual classifier or the marker lives in another asset (cover frame, MP4 container). Metadata cleaning addresses the file-level trigger only.
