What gets stripped
The cleaner performs four passes tuned to each format:
- JPEG: drops APP1 (EXIF + XMP), APP11 (C2PA/JUMBF), APP13 (Photoshop/IPTC), comment segments and other APPn blocks — while copying DQT/SOF/DHT/SOS and entropy data byte-for-byte, so pixels are untouched.
- PNG: removes eXIf, tEXt, zTXt, iTXt and tIME chunks; keeps color management (iCCP, gAMA, sRGB), animation chunks and all critical segments.
- WebP: deletes EXIF/XMP chunks and clears the matching VP8X flag bits, then rebuilds a correct RIFF container.
- AVIF: decoded and re-exported as PNG with container metadata gone.
Batch workflow for creators
- Check a representative file to learn what you’re dealing with.
- Clean in batches of up to 30 — product shots, carousels, listing sets.
- Every result is re-scanned automatically; the badge confirms a clean file.
- Grab single downloads or the whole batch as a ZIP.
Platform notes
Different services weigh markers differently — see the per-platform guides for Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Etsy. If a checker-clean file still gets labeled, a visual classifier or pixel watermark is involved — metadata tools cannot affect those (see the disclaimer).
